New York City connections power student experiences at Montclair State’s College of the Arts
Hannah Nye ’19, a musical theatre major, says Montclair State’s proximity to New York City – it’s just 12 miles away – and its diversity and strong arts programs were among the factors that led her to the University and the highly regarded arts program. “I knew that it was a really great program and I was really proud of myself for getting into it just because it is so competitive,” Nye says. With two train stations on campus and a bus system, getting into New York City is easy, “whether you want to go on an audition or you just want to go explore with your friends. There's so much to see right across the river.” The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Musical Theatre at Montclair State is a highly selective, four-year, conservatory-derived professional training program that prepares students for successful careers in musical theatre stage performance.
